My name is Jerome Leo Downey, I’m the founder of DMF Energy, Principal Consultant and a Tradesman. After a tremendous 4 years of competing as a CIS Football student athlete, I graduated in 2008 from Mount Allison University with a BA in Political Science. The experience broadened my horizons and helped me develop a level of self-discipline, commitment and focus that has allowed me to successfully combine my passion, interest and personal strengths into a career.
I‘m currently enrolled in Ryerson University’s CUE (Summer 2018), Energy Management & Innovation Graduate program and expected to complete my Steamfitter-Pipefitter Red Seal Endorsement certification (Summer 2017) at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Over the last 8 years I’ve been fortunate to work, learn and develop my skills with a variety of world-class organizations from technology startup’s such as Titanfile, to Bank of Nova Scotia, HSBC and Centum Group in finance. Within the renewable energy and oil gas sectors Just Energy, Strike Energy and Saipem Canada respectfully.
I’m the eldest of 4 brothers, was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia with the guidance of my grandparents. I’m a big fan of professional sports and an outdoor enthusiast. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering and supporting community organizations that are committed to advancing issues in education, health, innovation and financial literacy.
